Visit Stonehenge for free
To visit Stonehenge for free, you want to park in Larkhill area, which is just north of Stonehenge.
I used the postcode ‘SP4 8NS which takes you to the junction of Willoughby Road and Fargo Road.
You want to head away from the houses, towards what looks like a farmers field (photos below).
From the unmade road entrance, it takes around 15-20 minutes to walk to Stonehenge. It’s very bumpy in parts, wear sensible shoes (trainers), and I would avoid taking buggies down this part.
Keep straight on the road, until you arrive at the entrance where English Heritage staff are, you might walk past several parked up camper vans, and tents.
Right next to where the paying entry point is you will also find a public footpath (literally next to it), it’s really clearly marked, and you can walk right where everyone else can on one side up to Stonehenge.
No one can get up close now after the incident recently, (today’s date is 27th July 2024 for when we visited). It’s close enough to do some fab photos for free though, if we visit again, I would probably try to arrive before the paid entrance starts, to avoid waiting for people to stop crossing in front of photo opportunities.
We saved:

1 x child - £17.20
Total - £45.30 in total
We only wanted to see it, snap it, leave it..
Hurry whilst it’s still a road/path you can use.
